TEAM NOTES

• Texas improves to 4-4 overall and 3-2 in the Big 12 Conference. The Longhorns are now 77-26-4 all-time against Baylor and 31-16-2 in Waco.

• Texas held Baylor to seven points in the game, the third opponent this season they’ve held under 10 points. That is the first time since 2009 that Texas has held three opponents to single digits.

• DeShon Elliott’s 41-yard interception returned for a touchdown was Texas’ fourth of the season, tied for third-most (2009) in school history. Twice (1987, 2000) Texas has had five interceptions returned for a touchdown in a season. Elliott’s pick-six was the 77th in school history.

• Texas held Baylor to 31 yards rushing on 37 attempts (0.84 ypc). It was the fourth time this season the UT defense has held an opponent under 100 yards rushing.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES

DB DeShon Elliott
• Returned a first-quarter interception 41 yards for a touchdown, his second interception returned for a touchdown this season.
• His sixth interception of the season ties him for seventh-most in school history for a single season.
• Finished with a team-high eight tackles and a tackle for loss, in addition to his interception.

QB Shane Buechele
• Passed for 256 yards on 27-of-34 (.794) passing. He now has 3,771 career passing yards (16 games, 15 starts), 10th-most in school history.
• His 256 yards marked his 12th career 200-yard passing game, tying him with Vince Young for sixth-most in school history.
• His 28-yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter was his second rushing TD of the season and the third of his career.

RB Toneil Carter
• Registered his second rushing TD of the season with a 19-yard score on the first play of the fourth quarter. Finished with a team-high 70 rushing yards on 15 carries.

RB Daniel Young
• His 31-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter was the first of his career. Had 60 rushing yards on seven attempts in the game.

WR Lil’Jordan Humphrey
• His 15-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter was his first career touchdown. Finished with five catches for a team-high 55 yards in the game.

LB Malik Jefferson
• Finished with eight tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. Now has 199 career tackles.

DB John Bonney
• Recovered two fumbles in the game and now has three turnovers in the last three games (interception vs. Oklahoma). They were the first two fumble recoveries of his career.

DL Charles Omenihu
• Forced a fumble, the first of his career. Also had two tackles, a tackle for loss and a quarterback hurry in the game.

DB Holton Hill
• Forced a fumble, the first of his career. Finished the game with six tackles and a pass breakup.
