TEAM NOTES

• Saturday night’s game was Texas’ fourth all-time overtime game and just their second double-overtime game. The Longhorns are now 2-2 in OT games and 1-1 in double-OT games.

• DeShon Elliott’s second-quarter interception marked Texas’ third interception return for a touchdown on the season. It was their fifth non-offensive touchdown of the season and the three pick-sixes are tied for fourth-most all-time in a season (also three in 1950, 1978, 2002, 2003 and 2007).

• Texas now has five non-offensive touchdowns through three games. Holton Hill pick-six (2), DeShon Elliott pick-six, Reggie Hemphill-Mapps punt return, Hill field goal block return.

• Texas falls to 1-2 on the season with the loss and has an all-time record against ranked opponents of 125-147-8 (.461) and 33-46 (.418) on the road.

• The Longhorns’ defense held USC to 71 rushing yards on the night, their second straight game allowing less than 100 yards on th
has held an opponent below the century mark in rushing at least twice in a season.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES

• DeShon Elliott’s second quarter interception returned for a touchdown was his first career touchdown. It was Elliott’s first interception of the season (fourth career).

• Elliott’s fourth quarter interception was his second of the game. He is the first Longhorn this season with two interceptions in a game.

• Collin Johnson finished with seven catches for 191 yards. The 191 yards were the fourth-most in school history. It was his second 100-yard game of both this season and his career.

• Sam Ehlinger passed for 298 yards and two touchdowns. The 298 yards were the second-most by a true freshman ever behind Shane Buechele’s 318 vs. West Virginia last season.

• Armanti Foreman scored his 10th career touchdown Saturday night. He now has one in each of the Longhorns’ three games this season.

• Anthony Wheeler led the team with 12 tackles and had 3.5 tackles for loss in the game to set a new career high. His 1.5 sacks were also a career high.

• Malik Jefferson had 11 tackles, including two tackles for loss.

• Cade Brewer’s first-overtime touchdown reception was not only his first career touchdown, but also his first career catch.

• Naashon Hughes started Saturday night which marked his 40th consecutive game played.
