Texas vs San Diego game 2 thread

The thing is playing those games do nothing for you come postseason play.
That's why Augie always has a very tough nonconference schedule. He's very much a believer in putting the young guys in big situations early in the year. He's giving all our young arms like Clemens, Sawyer, Schimpf, Mayes, Johnston, and McKenzie more innings than what they are probably ready for. Last year we made a deep run in the postseason because we developed two arms in the season (Hollingsworth and Cooper). We have 3 go to arms in French, Hollingsworth and Duke. Now it's about developing a couple more big time arms for the tournament. Beating crap teams 20-1 doesn't develop players. You have to put your young players in pressure situations or they won't be ready come postseason play.
Yesterday is a great example of Augie being Augie. He could have kept Duke in the game and we probably win. That's not what Augie does this early in the year. He's looking to put all his guys in pressure situations so they are prepared for postseason play.

History is what defines great athletic programs. The Lakers, Yankees, Steelers are iconic franchises because they have rings. This is one of the most pathetic comments I've ever seen. The aggys are at all time lows now where they are saying national titles no longer matter. You can't make this up. If hardware doesn't matter what's the point of even playing sports or a season?

Ummm... teams that WIN hardware care about it.... as do many others. aggys don't care about hardware b/c you don't ever win any..... which is why your retard school hung NIT banners when you didn't even win that tourney.......
And reality is our football program is on its way back up and is just 6 years removed from playing for a NC, our baseball team damn near won it all in the last couple of years, and while we may miss the tourney in basketball, we still have more experience and history there than your program....
Tell me... when was the last time aggy played for a NC in any of those 3 sports? Hell, when was the last time aggy even played for or won their CC in any of those 3 sports - and do keep in mind you ticked off 3 MENS sports, so stick to your own parameters.... and when you realize it has been forever and a day you can kindly stfu and gtfo.

Your football team will not improve drastically. Will probably lose another six games. Your baseball team couldn't even tough out a win in the cold weather against San Diego. Talking CWS right now is ridiculous. Basketball depends on what team shows up right now.

Texas has a better baseball team than Aggy and it has already been tested. Barnes has a team full of talent that can't seem to close, yet they have beat more top50 RPI teams than Aggy and haven't lost to anyone ranked below 56 in RPI. Every team on the bubble, sucks! As for football, you don't have a clue what Texas will look like in 2015. Nobody does!

LMAO.. so much FAIL in your post, I don't even know where to begin..... our football team should improve quite a bit - granted we wont be able to fatten up on a bunch of scrub cupcakes in OOC like aggy will, but we will definitely be better this year than last year when we had a non existent o-line and a shaky QB - and yeah I know you open vs Arizona State, but they are probably going to curb stomp you.. seems to be what happens when aggys play P5 teams in OOC.... our baseball team WILL be in the CWS... that has pretty much been a common theme for quite awhile now which is why Texas has the most appearances in it in the NCAA I believe..... for you to say it is laughable due to a 2 game series shows how absolutely STUPID you really are.... but than again, aggys cant talk about championship level teams b/c they really haven't ever been one.... And if it is soo horrid that we lost 2 games to them, explain why we are STILL ranked higher than an undefeated aggy team? Seems to me that ANYONE who knows anything about CBB knows that Texas will be just fine and will probably be in the final 4 in the CWS this year... again.....
I will give you basketball though... however, I would like to point out one thing - if we miss the tourney and got NIT - we WONT be hanging banners and celebrating it like YOUR team did..
Besides having more of everything historically in the big 3 sports than you, we also have scoreboard over you in all 3 of those sports, loser aggy, football and basketball on your field/court. You guys can talk tough now solely because you don't have to lose to us anymore, because you quit the conference and ran away scared. Like a yippy dog behind a door who shuts up when the door is opened (which is why you little girls cowardly ducked us in your most recent football bowl game btw).

You idiots give Charlie zero credit for winning a BCS Sugar Bowl (against Florida) because of the conference he was in, but Sumlin will win one in the SEC. Remind what conference he was in before joining Aggie and how many did he win there?
