The Morning After: Hangover edition

awwww hell....you get all caught up in the non call pass interference calls ( there were at least 3 blatant ones that would have been TD's or at least hugh gainers) that made you completely miss the yanked face mask(that one was intercepted) and Twice our guys (Maps and I think Foreman) getting hit square in the facemask by the USC guys crown of helmet....If you can let those go, rewatch the tape and check the ball spots on plays close to first downs.

One could get the idea that we were screwed more times than a porn star.

Congrats @westx ------you are now responsible for me getting a new phone.
Sorry man. I had already patted my self on the back for such a clever and witty post. I don't mind removing it if anybody wants. On the bright side: IPhone X is coming out.

I'm not into blaming the refs. That game wasn't lost due to refs we had plenty of chances we just let it slip.

They were part of the equation, as were many other factors. Several of their blatantly obvious non calls had a high chance of leading to points. Hell, even the broadcaster were flabbergasted.

And still we were winning with 45 seconds left on the clock. Look I'm not saying there wasn't blown calls but ref's are part of the equation in EVERY single game. They get in the way sometimes they miss calls it's part of the game. We had the game in our pocket we just didn't do a good job of stopping USC scoring 3 points.

As mentioned, It was home cooking at it's finest and yes...They still could have won the game.

Prevent D will get you in a pickle, I don't like going away from what works. I'm still trying to figure out why Collin Johnson was on the field for that TD to end the first half!

I guess they were hoping for a jump ball to the end zone...

Why does the sideways pass work for everyone we play and it seldom works for us? Opinions please?

Eyes on....I am not trying to bag on you or anything, but that is the first observation you have made on here that made any sense. I had not given it much thought, but you are spot on! It DOES work for everybody else and almost never does for us. Why indeed?

We've had horrible DB play as of late so that's one reason. On the flipside our receivers need to seriously improve their blocking. No matter how highly rated you were in high school or athletically gifted as a receiver or DB you might be working hard is the only way to fight off blocks and or block somebody effectively.

2 Reasons:

1. Our WRs can't block.
2. Our DBs do not defeat blocks

It's has been that way for at least 5 years.

I'll add the fact that we haven't had a lot of QBs that can get the ball there fast enough recently.
