1. Red Zone Efficiency. In 2023, we scored a touchdown just under 51% of the time when we reached the red zone (placing us 120th out of 133 FBS teams). In 2024, we have scored touchdowns on 21 of our 23 red-zone drives (91.3%), with the only two exceptions being a Bert Auburn field goal against Michigan and a Jerrick Gibson fumble against UTSA. Finishing drives was a huge point of emphasis this offseason, and thus far the Texas offense is finishing like Ron fu$&ing Jeremy.

2. Scoring Defense. Ultimately, the most important metric for a defense is keeping the opposing offense from scoring (duh). The 5.5 PPG that the Texas defense has allowed is the best figure for a Longhorns’ defense through its first four games since 1977 (which is a long-ass time ago).
