The over-arching principle of the EU is based on the idea of an inflexible bureaucratic institution exercising control outside the grasp of the people. It is the prodigious fantasy of the party of big government here, as well. They desire to foist their rules and concerns on all of humanity— global warming, immigration, gun control, transgender bathrooms, and soon and so forth — by means of regulatory rulings fed to everyone by an deep-rooted civil service, without oversite or an actual vote by the representatives of the people. Hopefully we can circumvent this idea in the United States, replacing the bureaucratic aristocracy with a government for the people, by the people.
