I said that in a thread by @DustinMcComas regarding Allen. And I repeated that multiple times since. There’s not a bigger fan of Beard than me but if you even REMOTELY thought this team would hit the ground running then you don’t understand the game very well.
You are talking about a team HEAVILY reliant on multiple guys just now coming together after multiple seasons for various teams and systems. It was ALWAYS going to take time this season. And being w/o arguably the best transfer in Disu hasn’t helped.
Now, there are things this team REALLY needs to improve on and that is work harder to not get abused on the glass, particularly keeping opponents off the offensive glass. Need much better play from the guards, particularly AJ1 who has been HORRIBLE against our only 2 real opponents. A combined 7 points with just 2 assists and 3 TOs against Zags/Hall in a combined 40 minutes. 1 of 6 from the 3s. He has got to seriously elevate his play.
With all the said, patience is required with this team. And hopefully Disu is back sooner than later.
