“There is no limit to the amount of good you can do if you don’t care who gets the credit.” — Ronald Reagan
In this season of giving, I like to read these kinds of quotes and hear about people who do things like being a secret Santa. One time my wife and I were in a line at the Target check out and this lady had her little boy with her in the cart, they were ahead of us. The little boy wanted some M&M’s and her mother told him to put them back because she didn’t have enough money to pay for that and the rest of her essentials. My wife spoke up and said, here let us buy those for your boy and the rest of what you have there in your cart. The lady was in tears as she accepted our offer to pay, and the boy’s face lit up like a Christmas tree.
Sometimes you are exactly where our Creator wants you to be to help someone else. We just have to recognize them when they present themselves.
We felt very humbled having witnessed this lady’s situation. We couldn’t help but remember when we were first married how we had to watch EVERY penny we spent. We can easily forget how fortunate we are until we see others struggling.
Our Creator loves a cheerful giver. Especially if we do it from the heart, not for others praise or recognition. We are celebrating the greatest gift of all this season. It seems fitting to give back when we are able.
Let’s spread the cheer this season my TG friends!
