“Success is a journey, not a destination. The doing is often more important than the outcome.” —Arthur Ashe
This quote prompted me to review my life to date. I agree with it.
My life has had many successes and failures thus far. Success in a career/business is one thing that can be measured by assessing if a certain goal was reached. Along the way my business partner and I had more successes than failures, but the failures were very good learning lessons. At the end of our business ownership, we didn’t maintain our number one product in our category, but we did help improve millions of lives. The journey was well worth it for those lives we positively impacted on even though our competition eventually won a larger share of the market share.
Success in life’s other areas is more subjective. Not everyone has the same definition of what success means to them. I believe success in life is achieving contentment in most areas of one’s life. For example, there is no guarantee that even if you do all the right things as a parent for your children that they will turn out to be responsible adults. Also, being the best spouse doesn’t guarantee you will have a successful marriage.
Overall, I believe if you have tried/are trying to be the best person you can be, the journey is well worth the effort. At least you can say you gave it your best shot despite how things turn out.
Keep doing your best my TG friends, no matter what the outcomes.
