I Hate To Be Critical…
Or should I ask, don’t we hate to be criticized?
I admit, there are times when I hate to be challenged by others who think I’m wrong. After reflection of those times, I’m reminded that I don’t have all the right answers and that being wrong is a chance to learn, grow, and mature.
No one likes a KNOW IT ALL, even when they are right. Sometimes it is HOW we are criticized that can make a difference in the way correction is received. The tone/attitude you give when correcting someone can go a long way to better reception. Often, for example, my wife or I will have to acknowledge that our tone of voice was too harsh.
No one is perfect, there is always room for us to grow and improve. Humility is a character trait our Creator loves to see in us. He tells us that those who exalt themselves will be humbled and the humble will be exalted.
Check your pride and your tone my friends. We would be wise to accept corrections with humility.
