There is a disturbance in the southern Gulf that the Hurricane Center gives a 50-70 percent chance of developing. It would be named Alberto I think.
It doesn't look to be a huge wind event. The models show the center crossing somewhere around Corpus on Wednesday, but as a tropical storm it will be unbalanced. Most of the rain and wind will be north of the center, with sustained winds to maybe 45-50 mph. Could cause a lot more rain though, inland in the area between Rockport, Columbus, and San Antonio. Depends on the model, as the GFS shows SA getting a foot of rain while the European model shows only 3-4".
Wonder of this is an omen of the busy season they are predicting?
