Someone who believes that Trump called dead soldiers "losers and suckers," please answer the following two questions:
1. Why won't the "four anonymous sources"--any of them--put their names on this story? They have every incentive to do so. Putting their name on the story would: (a) add credibility to the story; (b) damage the president tremendously, as the "sources" would certainly hope for; and (c) ensure their hero status in the media. Any one of them can freely come forward, appear on Meet the Press (or any other program) tomorrow, and substantiate their story. But they won't do so. Why?
2. Why didn't Bolton write about the "losers and suckers" comment in his book or talk about it on his media tour? He has flatly said that he didn't hear Trump make those comments. Maybe you buy his follow-up line that it's possible Trump made the comments while Bolton was away from Trump. If so, it is indisputable that Bolton would have heard scuttlebutt about the "losers and suckers" comments. Then tell me why Bolton hasn't said that he was told, or that he heard, about Trump's alleged comments, even if Bolton did not hear them first-hand?
Until those questions are addressed--and nobody has even made the attempt--the story lacks any indicia of credibility.
