The game was postponed from last night, so there is no broadcast on LHN since they are showing the women's basketball game. I attached a link with the audio in case anyone is interested.
FR Mayes is the midweek starter again. I'm sure he will only throw a couple innings though.
Marlow singles. Guy on 1st with nobody out.
Boswell hits into a double play. 2 outs. Hard hit ball by Boswell, just unlucky right back to the pitcher.
Cantu walks. Guy on 1st with 2 outs.
Gurwitz grounds out to 2nd.
Mayes having control issues tonight, expected with a freshman midweek starter. 3-0 UTPA with a guy on 2nd and 2 outs in the top of the 3rd. Pitching change for Texas.
4-0 UTPA heading to the bottom of the 4th. The Freshman making some mistakes tonight, but that's why Augie plays all these freshman in these midweek games.
Hinojosa strikes out. 1 out.
Barrera HBP. Guy on 1st with 1 out.
Marlow walks. Guy on 1st and 2nd with 1 out.
Boswell flies out to left field. Guy on 1st and 2nd with 2 outs.
Cantu rips one to center but caught be the CF. One of those nights unfortunately where the ball can't find a hole.
4-0 UTPA after 4.

Gurwitz walks. Guy on 1st with nobody out.
Mathis force out at 2nd. Guy on 1st with 1 out.

Hinojosa singles. RBI single for Hinojosa. 4-1 UTPA. Guy on 1st and 2nd with 2 outs.
Barrera grounds out to 3rd.
Marlow rips a couple foul balls and then a spectacular catch by the UTPA first baseman. 1 out. Just one of those nights.
Infield single for Boswell. Guy on 1st with 1 out. Texas is ripping the ball just can't find holes.
Cantu walks. Guy on 1st and 2nd with 1 out.
Gurwitz hits into a double play. Just not our night. Another hard hit ball just right at someone.
Freshman Mathis reaches on an error by the first basemen. Guy on 1st with nobody out.
Johnson fielders choice. Guy on 1st with 1 out.
Shaw RBI double. 4-2 UTPA. Guy on 2nd with 1 out. Pitching change for UTPA.
Hinojosa rips one to CF, but it's caught. Guy on 2nd with 2 outs.
Barrera pops up to 1st.
Another FR coming in for Texas on the mound, this time Johnston. Skip getting early work in for all our young arms. It's always funny watching these midweek games, Skip/Augie always gonna get reps for the young arms regardless of the outcome.

Marlow lead off walk. Guy on 1st with nobody out. Pitching change for UTPA.
Boswell RBI double. 4-3 UTPA. Guy on 2nd with nobody out. Another pitching change for UTPA
Wild pitch guy on 3rd.
Cantu hard liner to 2b, another hard hit ball that can find a hole. Guy on 3rd with 1 out.
Gurwitz singles. 4-4. Guy on 1st with 1 out.
Mathis flies out to CF. Guy on 1st with 2 outs.
Johnson strikes out.
Culbreth a little wild here in the 9th UTPA has a guy on 1st and 3rd in the 9th with 1 out. This is the problem with throwing so many pitchers, but Skip likes getting them experience.
Shaw lead off walk. Guy on 1st with nobody out.
Hinojosa sac bunt. Guy on 2nd with 1 out.
Barrera intentionally walked. Guy on 1st and 2nd with 1 out.
Marlow flies out to RF. 2 outs guy on 1st and 3rd. Barely missed that one, almost hit it out.
Boswell RBI single.
Texas wins 5-4. I really like the fight in this team. Down 4-0 with a lot of youth tonight and still found a way to win a game where hits weren't falling.

Yep, that could have easily been a game we lost. We were hitting the ball well but nothing was falling. UTPA wasn't exactly ripping the ball, but they were finding holes. That's baseball some nights.
I learned a lot about this team last night. We should have lost that game.
It amazes the difference the hitters have at the plate this year, the approach and decision making on each pitch is so much better than years past. 3 years ago the majority of the lineup was guessing at the plate and lacked confidence the majority of the season.
This team is playing really well and just by the tone in Augie's voice from his interview on 104.9 with E and Bucky he knows this team is something special.
