It felt good.
Beautiful day in the Spring Branch area of Houston. Drove down Hammerly, made that right on Gessner.
Pulled up to the church [I was a little dismayed that it wasn't Mosque]. But all praises due to Allah the most merciful and beneficent. Alhamduillah!
Was able to cast my ballot. Even though I knew I was voting a straight Democrat ticket, I don't trust technology so much, and tend to be a little more meticulous. I made sure I went through each candidate individually and selected Democrat for each and every one.
All of the people of color who were beaten over their heads [like John Lewis], dragged, hosed, tossed in jail, bullied, intimidated, made to take ridiculous poll taxes - I did this for them, and I know each and everyone of them are looking down on me with pride.
Also, I have a great text message thread going, and we're making sure we all vote, and tell a friend to vote, and their friend to vote. I will also be assisting with transportation for elderly, and people in various Churches and Mosques around the city.
Anyway, though I'd share my tidbit.
