Welcome to the 40

He was committed to Georgia until today and immediately flipped to us. He's an early enrollee and Georgia ran out of room because a couple of their guys (including RB Chubb) decided to come back for their SR years. They then asked Carter to enroll later but he's graduating in December. So we benefit. Great pickup. #7 RB in the country.

In the end, it shows Georgia tried to stay within the scholorship limits. They expected several guys to declare for the draft, but they decided to come back to school for another year. Because Carter was going to be an EE, they couldnt bring him in early under a scholorship. The family felt like they had been submarined and so they pulled the plug and here he is. Georgia still wanted him, they just couldnt start his full ride until next school year.

Why in the world would Georgia not find room for this guy? Seems weird to me. They found room for their 4 other early enrolles.
He still had a spot, the paperwork was signed and faxed (they didn't yank his offer, it was too late for that). He no longer felt there was mutual interest and moved on. Try not to buy into the spin machine.

I'm glad he chose Texas.

He is the No.2 ranked RB in the state and No.7 overall. He is a take, no matter what. They screwed up.
