Players making demands before they play (all while enjoying the benefit of a full ride) and band members refusing to perform the SCHOOL song. Playing a sport at The University of Texas is not a right. Having the opportunity to play in the band is not a right. There is no entitlement here. They are privileges given to these young men and women to represent a University much grander than any one person. If any of them feel differently and that they (or their beliefs) are more important than the University as a whole the simple answer is “don’t let the door hit you in the ass on your way out.” I honestly don’t understand why we are giving any of this credence at all.
