At its core a sanctuary city limits their cooperation with the national government's effort to enforce immigration law. They do it under the idea that they don't want to disrupt their community and they do it to benefit their residents. Maybe the conservative states or cities could apply the same concept to abortions and protecting life. Set up a sanctuary city/state to limit cooperation with federal govt trying to enforce the ability to have an abortion. A community has an interest in protecting lives. Without babies eventually the city would die. In the interest of all the city would protect life. If the left can manipulate something why not the right?
