It Had to Come to an End
All things have a time and a place. All things end. As great as Tampa Bay’s start to this regular season has been, loses were inevitable. The Astros were inevitable.
The Rays — whose season began in March — raced out to a 13-0 record before dropping a three game set to the Blue Jays and losing game 1 of their next series (against the Reds). After that setback of three losses in four nights, the 19-3 Rays had righted the ship.
Now of course, the Astros. Inevitable. The Astros season has of course only recently begun (April 17th), but the Astros, as would be expected, have picked up right where they left off. After taking a three game set from the Blue Jays squad that had just taken a set from Tampa Bay, the Astros went to Atlanta. Dubón kept hitting. Yordan kept knocking people in. The bullpen turned out the lights. The squad that that had accidentally defeated the Astros in the 117th Modern World Series got treated to the ‘ol 118th special and failed to notch a single win.
So now the Astros march on to Tropicana Field where the Astros will address another grievance from a previous year (2020). Don’t feel bad for the Rays through: 18-6 is a heck of a start to a season.
The Astros will win this series. It’s what we do.

The Astros will start José Urquidy, 1-1, 3.66 ERA, 1.53 WHIP, throws R: Urquidy has yet to find consistency so far this season. Two starts ago he dominated Pittsburgh. Most barecently, he dropped a 4-2 decision to The Blue Jays allowing
Tampa Bay will counter with Taj Bradley, 2-0, 2.61 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, throws R: A rookie, Taj has been fantastic posting wins in both his starts with 17 Ks against only 2 BB, most recently in a 10-0 win @ Cincinnati (3 H, 1 BB, 9 K, 0 R, 5-1/3 frames).
