Sweep a two game set in Mexico City: Get promoted

Take a three game set against AL Central points leader: an eyebrow raises

Enter: AL West points leader Seattle

Even coming off relegation, Los Astros are the better squad.

One of the Mexican League fielding holdovers has been replaced. The new old new kid at first looks promising. Other young talent has started to show that it belongs.

The rotation still needs a few arms worthy of the show, but those could be coming soon in the form of Javier and Urquidy. JV is back and is JV. Framber is back and is coming off of a promising outing. Mexican League Cy Young Señor Blanco looks to continue his tremendous season. And now, potentially, Javier and Urquidy may be coming back.

The heart beats. It beats again. And again. Maybe it misses a beat but then there’s another. At some point, that’s called a pulse.

So here we are: May. Coming off a start that nobody has overcome to reach the playoffs in 110 years. But these ARE the Astros. The pen is reset. Answers are emerging. Focus has set in. In some distant future — in the wake of some other team’s disastrous start — other fans will point all the way back to 2024; other folk will say “nobody has overcome that since the Astros”.

Seattle comes to town fresh off a hot start, but they know. They absolutely do know. Deep down, everybody knows.
