Seemingly sitting out there at the edge of the CFP Forest lurks an undefeated UNC headed by our beloved (/snicker (for some of you)) Mack Brown — just behind us at No. 10. Imagine if UNC goes undefeated the rest of the way, and in December 2 both Texas and UNC win their conferences.
FSU has at times looked vulnerable, so an upset by the fighting Brownies is not inconceivable. So that poses an interesting thought. If things play out and Texas is sitting at No. 5 or within striking distance if and when we beat OU (yes, we WILL!) and someone ahead of us loses and UNC is just behind us, does Mack go on the airwaves and begin lobbying for UNC to get the #4 spot and jump Texas?!?
Would the decision makers take a 1-loss Texas over an undefeated Carolina? And can you imagine Brown talking down Texas and that “the system” that would allow such a thing? He did it for us in 2004 to get us into the Rose Bowl. Can you imagine what that would do to any good will he still has at Texas?
Would Sark respond?
P.S. I fixed the typo😎
