A high school teacher in Texas has been arrested on child sex-trafficking charges for allegedly offering runaway students a place to stay and then forcing them into prostitution.

Cosmetology teacher Kedria Grigsby, 42, who worked at Klein Cain High School, was taken into custody Monday and charged with three counts of child trafficking and three counts of compelling prostitution of juveniles, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez announced.

She was working with her 21-year-old son, Roger Magee, to build a “prostitution enterprise,” according to prosecutors.

“It appears Grigsby recruited troubled juveniles from local high schools by offering them a place to stay, which would be a hotel,” Gonzalez wrote on X.

“Additional teen victims have come forward stating that Grigsby was also attempting to recruit them while attending school.”

Her arrest came nearly two years after her son was arrested on similar charges of child trafficking, sexual assault of a child and compelling prostitution.

Investigators say they found text messages between mother and son — as well others with three alleged victims, ages 15, 16 and 17— discussing prostitution payments being made with Zelle.

The teacher also allegedly paid for a motel room, where an officer witnessed one of the alleged victims walk in and later run out, KHOU reports.

The girl then ran into Grigsby’s car, in which at least one other alleged victim was sitting, officials said.

The teacher waived her right to appear in court on Tuesday, and her bond was set at $750,000 — $125,000 for each charge of sex trafficking and compelling prostitution.

She was also ordered to not contact any of the alleged victims and could have no unsupervised interactions with minors, Fox 26 reports.

Grigsby was first hired by the Klein school district for the 2019-2020 school year, and “passed a state background check at the time,” a spokesperson for the district told Click 2 Houston.

Grigsby was “relieved of her teaching duties,” the spokesperson added.

Parents were informed later that day that Grigsby had been arrested, when Klein ISD officials sent out an official letter.

It said Grigsby was immediately placed on administrative leave, and the district “has NO intention of allowing this individual back to Klein Cain or any Klein ISD school,” according to Click 2 Houston.

“Let us be clear: any behavior harming children is deplorable, and we will always fully cooperate with our many law enforcement partners to ensure anyone engaging in such acts is brought to justice,” the letter continued, according to Fox 26.

Local parents were left stunned by Grigsby’s arrest.

“I’m glad that she was caught, for sure. But I am shocked and appalled that the school didn’t know,” one parent told Click 2 Houston.

“How did you not know that this one was involved in that kind of stuff?”

The parent went on to suggest the district “dig a little deeper when they’re doing their interviews and their process of hiring.

“I mean that’s serious, that could have been a lot of kids.”

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott also called the accusations against Grigsby “disgusting,” as he used her arrest to tout his efforts to bring school choice to the state.

“What some of our educators are doing is criminal and disgusting,” he posted on X.

“No child should be compelled by the state to be in a school like this. And yet, current law doesn’t allow the choice to go elsewhere.

“I’m working to elect state representatives who will change that,” he said.
