Consolidated Two-Year Look at Recruiting

We all understand the importance of stacking talent for championship purposes. With '22's NSD1 out of the way, I thought it would be interesting to look at the '22 & '23 High School Classes combined (by position). Understanding that we did very well in the Portal last year... and the angst expressed about Rivals' Rankings (4 Star LT Banks)... I'm sticking to H.S. signings only + no change in position (example Akana might move to WDE) + sticking with final Rivals Ranking. To me, 2024 is all about filling needs at DT, DB & TE. To a lesser degree WR & RB. Here is what I found:

Offense:

Offensive Line: 12 Total Signings (Avg. 6'5" & 316lbs... thanks CJ Vogel). Status looking real nice!

5 Star (6.1) = One
4 Star (6.0) = One
4 Star (5.9) = One
4 Star (5.8) = Four
3 Star (5.7) = Five

Quarterback: 2 Total Signings. Status looking real nice!

5 Star (6.1) = One
4 Star (5.9) = One

Running Back: 3 Total Signings. Status appears solid. Need to target some "super blue" War Daddies in '24.

4 Star (6.0) = One
4 Star (5.8) = One
3 Star (5.6) = One

Wide Receiver: 4 Total Signings. Status appears a little thin. In this ear of the Portal, need to build greater numbers (3-4) in '24.

4 Star (6.0) = One
4 Star (5.9) = Two
3 Star (5.5) = One

Tight End: 2 Total Signings. Let's hope for Duce R... because the Status of this position is looking real thin.

3 Star (5.7) = Two

Defense:

Defensive Ends: 6 Total Signings. Status looking real nice! Colin Simmons would fit in nicely as a 6.1 Five Star.

4 Star (6.0) = One
4 Star (5.9) = Two
4 Star (5.8) = Two
3 Star (5.7) = One

Defensive Tackle: 4 Total Signings. Status of this position is looking thin. Need more "Super Blues."

Linebacker: 7 Total Signings. Status looking real nice!

5 Star (6.1) = One
4 Star (5.9) = Two

DB: 7 Total Signings. Quality appears solid, but quantity needs an infusion. Four to five play at a time. Need some "super blue" War Daddies in '24.
