Sweat, out of Huntsville, is up to 260 pounds on his 6-3 frame.
He said he's been feeling Texas for a while, and spoke with his mother and his coach on Tuesday to tell them he thought he was ready to commit. After sleeping on it and talking to his coach again today, he made the call to Oscar Giles and Tom Herman. According to Sweat, the UT coaches were surprised but were very excited to get the call.
Sweat said he feels like he's versatile along the defensive line and can play pretty much any DL position. He's planning on hitting an Under Armour camp in Houston in April ... I'll be interested in seeing him in person there.
I asked him what this commitment means and if he'll still be talking to other schools ... "I’m 100 percent done," Sweat said.
