Cliff-notes:
The Longhorns picked up commitment No.3 for the 2020 class on Thursday when Prosper offensive lineman Jake Majors committed to Tom Herman and his staff.

Rankings: Majors is currently rated as three-star prospect in the current Rivals 2020 rankings.

Key Offers: Arizona State, Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, TCU, Texas Tech, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin .

Evaluation: While Majors' recruiting stock is just taking off (basically rated a three-star by every recruiting service), it's easy to see why the Longhorns have made Majors a chief offensive line target for the 2020 class. At 6-4, 285 pounds, Majors has the makings of a possible left tackle and while he might not yet be a guy that you'd classify as a cant'-miss, no-doubt-about-it prospect, there's not much from a skill standpoint, he's not that far off because he checks off so many boxes. From a pass protection standpoint, Majors is comfortable on an island, displaying good feet, balance and a natural feel for pass blocking. Meanwhile, Majors isn't nearly as far along in the strength department as he will eventually will, but he still packs quite a punch in the running game when he gets his pads on his opponent. It will take a couple of seasons in the weight room before he's likely in the mix on the two-deep, but his upside is such that he could absolutely emerge as a high-end, multi-year starter down the road.

Why it matters: Don't get distressed about the current recruiting ranking, as it's hard to believe that Majors won't be a four-star prospect upon further evaluation. The Texas coaches have circled Majors as a must-have up-front on the offensive side of the ball and he's being counted on as an important foundation piece for the 2020 class.
