Cliffs notes: The 2019 Texas recruiting class grew to seven just now when a big, in every sense, commitment was announced - Oak Ridge (Conroe) offensive lineman Tyler Johnson committed to the Longhorns.

Rankings: Rivals.com rates Johnson as the No. 71 player nationally, the No. 10 player in Texas, and the No. 11 offensive tackle. According to the 2019 LSR 100, Johnson is the No. 10 prospect in the Lone Star State.

Key offers: Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, TCU, Texas A&M and USC are among the schools that extended Johnson an offer.

Evaluation: Listed at 6-4, 280 pounds, Johnson is a mauler at the tackle position. Is he raw? Certainly. Like most big guys his age, there are technical and footwork aspects that can improve. But you can't teach his size, length, strength, motor, and solid athleticism. Johnson moves well both laterally, as a pulling tackle, and down the field in the screen game. This is a ball of clay that could be molded into a monster offensive linemen.

What it means for Texas: Texas just landed one of the state's best players, a top 100 prospect nationally, and, most importantly, its first offensive linemen in the 2019 class.
