Cliffs notes
: The Longhorns continued their sprint to National Signing Day with an enormous addition. Katy (Katy) 2018 defensive tackle Moro Ojomo announced his commitment to Texas, and is now the 26th member of the 2018 recruiting class and the fifth defensive linemen.

Rankings: Rivals.com rates Jones as a three-star prospect, the No. 41 defensive tackle, and the No. 70 player in Texas.

Key Offers: Ojomo took official visits to Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Miami (Fl.), and all programs offered. Also, Alabama, Texas A&M, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Tennessee, Arkansas are some of the other schools that offered the defensive tackle.

Evaluation: Here’s what I wrote about Ojomo in a recent column:

“Ojomo looks like a top 100 player nationally, and one of the best players in the state. Seriously. At his age with his build, Ojomo possesses a lot of physical upside. On its own, that would be an appealing factor. Now, throw in how impressive he is on tape: pad level, hand usage, technique, getting out of his stance, quickness, motor, instincts… it’s all there.
Landing Ojomo would be, especially this late in the process, an enormous get for Texas.”

Why it matters: Defensive tackle is an enormous need for the Longhorns, and Ojomo has elite upside as one of the nation’s top rising seniors and one of the state’s best defensive linemen. He has a look of a prospect that could be an all-conference player as a junior or senior. This is a huge get for Texas.
