For the second time two days, the Texas Longhorns have added to their 2016 recruiting class.

After picking up a commitment from defensive back Eric Cuffee on Thursday night, the Longhorns picked up a pledge from Southlake Carroll athlete Lil'Jordan Humphrey on Saturday night, with Humphrey announcing for Texas on live television.

A versatile athlete, Humphrey can do a little bit of everything on the football field and is a player who could help on either side of the ball. Texas has recruited him to play offense, where his size (6-4) could be a match-up problem for opposing defenses.

Humphrey has been high on Texas' board for a long while, and the Longhorns have been at or near the top of Humphrey's list for the better part of the last year. Late last year, Humphrey had narrowed his focus to Texas and Cal and was expected to choose between those two.

However, following a January 15 official visit to Texas, Humphrey cancelled his scheduled Cal visit and replaced it with a trip to Wisconsin. Texas and Wisconsin were the last two teams standing for the versatile athlete, but all signs continues to point to the Longhorns.

On Saturday night, Humphrey made it official and added his name to the Texas commitment list.

"is so big and he does so many different things at Southlake. They used him at running back, he was able to catch a lot of passes downfield, he can split out wide," said Rivals.com regional recruiting analyst Jason Howell. "He can do a lot of things. He has the size to be a big inside receiver. He kind of gives the offense a guy who can do a lot of different things and open things up for an offensive play caller."

The 6-4, 200-pound Humphrey becomes the Longhorns' 15th commitment. A three-star prospect, Humphrey ranks No. 41 on the Lone Star Recruiting Top 100.

As a senior, Humphrey rushed for 1,292 yards and 14 touchdowns on 184 attempts. He recorded 57 receptions for 876 yards and 8 scores.
