Looking for advice and any pro tips into starting and running an airbnb.
Backstory. We have a house in coastal North Carolina that use to be our primary residence, (we currently reside in Rockport). We placed the home on the market to sell back in October for $900k. (We have since lowered to $850k) Lots of views and saves on Zillow but only a dozen or so showings and zero offers. It’s 3200 sqft single story with a 3 car detached garage and shop, and sits on 3 acres of wooded property. We privacy fenced 1/2 acre of backyard that includes the garage as a boundary. It has an inground salt water pool, Tiki bar, and outdoor kitchen. We owe very little on it with a 2% interest rate so we can afford to keep it, but the tax advantages of rental property are very attractive to us. All that said we are seriously considering going the Airbnb route with it, and was hoping for some advice from those that have or are currently hosting Airbnb’s. Your help is appreciated.
