I noticed that the Kindle version of the noted late American historian Richard M. Ketchum's book Saratoga: Turning Point of America's Revolutionary War is on sale today on the Amazon website for $1.99. Absolutely one of the best Revolutionary War books I've ever read and about one of the most interesting campaigns of the war, where British general "Gentleman Johnny" Burgoyne got his come-uppance from a bunch of mostly backwoods Americans who he thought couldn't fight. Well.
On the American side, former British general Horatio Gates claimed (and unfortunately, got) credit for the victory, but it was really due to the heroism of Benedict Arnold. Yeah, that Benedict Arnold. How quickly the worm sometimes turns.
