In 2008 when #1 Texas played #11 Missouri at DKR college GameDay was in town.
My son was two and a half, so I saw this as a great opportunity to entertain my kid.
In those days, GameDay was located by the fountain in the South Mall.
So we parked near the Co-op somewhere and wandered across campus. Bevo was in the grass area South of the Main building. There was a decent size crowd. The band was there. It was a fun day.
As we were walking from Bevo across the main building Quad, a guy walked past us and said “You’re raising him right”.
Indeed we did, tonight he was accepted into the University of Texas, into the school he wanted, no autoadmit, so the hard way.
