13. Las Vegas Raiders: DT Byron Murphy II, Texas

They need a lot of help, including – seemingly – behind center. But that might have to wait. New coach (and former NFL linebacker) Antonio Pierce wants a much tougher defense, and a dominant player like Murphy would alleviate focus on DE Maxx Crosby while perhaps helping to unlock disappointing, thus far, 2023 first-rounder Tyree Wilson.

26. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: WR Adonai Mitchell, Texas

At 6-2, 205 pounds, he’s not quite as big as Bucs legend Mike Evans, who seems headed for the free-agent door. But Mitchell (4.34 40 time) is a heckuva lot faster.

32: Kansas City Chiefs: WR Xavier Worthy, Texas

Why not give the champs the fastest player in combine history? His 4.21 speed would fill a need for a team set to lose deep threats Mecole Hardman and Marquez Valdes-Scantling. But don’t short Worthy’s chops as a receiver after he averaged 66 catches and better than 900 yards during three seasons with the Longhorns. He'll probably need to add to a 5-11, 165-pound build.

16. Seattle Seahawks

Byron Murphy II, IDL, Texas

The Seahawks address the trenches on the defensive side of the football and draft Byron Murphy II. Murphy has the physical tools to wreck passing attacks rushing from an interior position. Murphy would play alongside Boye Mafe and Derick Hall, which should be a great front for the foreseeable future for the Seahawks.

22. Philadelphia Eagles

Xavier Worthy, WR, Texas

Fly Eagles Fly. The Eagles draft the fastest player ever to run at the NFL Combine. Xavier Worthy would add a much-needed boost to the offense that quickly became stale in 2023 and needs another element. Worthy added to A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith would be a great landing spot for him and will give defenses a very difficult task to limit this offense.

Las Vegas has a variety of needs but it would not hurt first-year head coach Antonio Pierce's feelings if the organization's first-round pick is used on a defender. The Raiders need offensive linemen, cornerback and a variety of other positions, but use this opportunity to address their defensive interior.

34. Patriots: WR Adonai Mitchell, Texas
43. Falcons: WR Xavier Worthy, Texas
48. Jaguars: DT T'Vondre Sweat, Texas

23) Houston Texans (From CLE): Byron Murphy II, DT, Texas

Byron Murphy II is gaining crazy steam amongst the draft community. The physical Texas DT has been getting buzz lately with the belief that he will be a first-round selection. Murphy’s toughness and skill are a great fit for a DeMeco Ryans-coached team, and adding him to the mix in Houston feels like a no-brainer.

29) Detroit Lions: Adonai Mitchell, WR, Texas

The Lions can go in several directions here, with several pressing needs despite an impressive season.

In this 2024 NFL Mock Draft, they add former Georgia and Texas WR Adonai Mitchell. While Detroit has some talented pass catchers, you can always use more, and Mitchell could be an immediate contributor with his red-zone prowess.
