If this tweet is true, Texas and Oklahoma will NOT have a common SEC opponent in 2024. Texas and Oklahoma will play each other and seven different SEC teams.
If Chip is correct, then Oklahoma will NOT play A&M (rivalry), Arkansas (former SWC), or Georgia (Tier 1). However, LSU (regional opponent), Missouri (former Big 8), and Alabama (Tier 1) would give the Sooners comparable opponents in terms of difficulty.
That leaves the following eight teams to fill the remaining four games for each school. Keeping with a balanced schedule, I would pair the schools like this.
Florida - Auburn
Tennessee - Ole-Miss
Mississippi State - Kentucky
South Carolina - Vanderbilt
From the top half, I like Florida/Ole Miss and Auburn/Tennessee. From the bottom half, I like Mississippi State/Vanderbilt and Kentucky/South Carolina.
The resulting conference schedules would look something like this...
TEXAS
Oklahoma
Texas A&M
Arkansas
Georgia
Auburn
Tennessee
Mississippi State
Vanderbilt
OKLAHOMA
Texas
LSU
Missouri
Alabama
Florida
Ole Miss
Kentucky
South Carolina
