"
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Southeastern Conference announced each school’s conference opponents in addition to home and away designations for games on its 2024-25 Men’s Basketball schedule, the first season in which The University of Texas and the University of Oklahoma will participate in SEC competition.

For Texas, home contests in the third year of Moody Center will feature Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas A&M. The Longhorns will make road trips to face Arkansas, Florida, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt. Dates, times and television information will be revealed at a later date.

Conference play tips off on Saturday, January 4 and runs through Saturday, March 8. Each SEC team plays the other 15 teams at least once during league play. Three teams will be played a second time during the schedule, two of which are permanent opponents and one that will change each year.

The continuation and renewal of historic rivalries was a point of emphasis when creating the schedule as the SEC welcomes Oklahoma and Texas as new members in 2024-25. Additionally, preexisting home-and-away rotations for single-play opponents were preserved.

The SEC Tournament will be played at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn., on March 12-16, 2025."

At face value, it looks like the Horns got a relatively favorable home schedule. Let's discuss.
