As a 2nd generation Eagle Scout I am very sad and disappointed in the direction the Boy Scouts have gone in the last few years 😔
The Boy Scouts have always been inclusive. There were options for girls in the Explorer/Venture programs, as well as the Girl Scouts.
Rather than make all these changes to accommodate girls in the Boy Scouts, the Girl Scout organization should have fixed what was deficient in their program.
Girls should have never been allowed to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout IMO.
I am glad that my Dad, who was a Professional Scouter and Eagle Scout and Silver Award recipient isn't around to see this.
I know we have some active Scouter on the OB, and I know some have previously mentioned they don't have an issue with these changes. This is my personal opinion, and I am sure there are some that disagree.
