Winning Pitcher: Charlie Hurley (3-0)
Losing Pitcher: Aaron Calhoun (0-4)

The Longhorns came out and did what they are supposed to do on Tuesday nights at the Disch, dominate in all aspects of the game. The Horns absolutely did that tonight as they scored 11 runs on 15 hits, made no errors and shut out the Mavericks of UTA, allowing just 6 hits on the night.

RECAP

Instead of the normal writeup, I am going to just post the home runs that the Horns hit tonight. Know this, the Horns scored in every inning except for the 5 when they went down in order. The pitching staff got a solid start out of Charlie Hurley and the bullpen was solid all night long, keeping the Mavs from getting anything going offensively.

BIG MOMENT

Max Belyeu stepped to the plate with 2 outs and a runner on 1B and promptly launched a ball to the Yeti Yard to give the Horns a 2-0 lead from which the Horns never looked back.

INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCE

Max Belyeu. 3-5, 2 R, 3 RBI and 2 moon shots.

TAKE AWAYS

That is what a Tuesday night game against in-state foes are supposed to look like. Domination from front to back. The Horns were able to get a solid 4 inning outing from Charlie Hurley, while also getting Duplantier, Tumis, and Tole some light mid-week work. More importantly, the Horns were able to get multi-hit nights from Jared Thomas and Peyton Powell, both of who have scuffled at the plate lately.

Overall, very hard to complain about anything in the performance tonight. Horns have to carry this performance into this weekend's matchup against the Sooners.

The Horns now have the #1, #2, and #4 home run hitters in the Big 12. Not too shabby.

NEXT UP

Horns travel to Norman to take on the #18 ranked and Big 12 leading Oklahoma Sooners in a massive conference series matchup. First pitch is scheduled for 630pm on Friday, but weather will absolutely be a factor this weekend as there are supposed to be quite a few storms in the area.
