In 2021 we lost 7 games. 5 of those losses were by one score.

In 2022, we lost 5 games. Including one to UW without Bijan and Roschon. All 5 losses were by one score.

In 2023, well, we’re 9-1. Best record in 14 years. 6 of those wins were by more than 1 score (at least a 10-point win, including over Alabama in Tuscaloosa). 3 by one score after blowing big leads.

Think about that. Take the the name off the program and look at the forgoing objectively. One would have to admit that is a damn good turnaround, for whatever program you were looking at. Has it been pretty all the time? Nope. But long term rebuilds never are.

The Texas Administration knew when they hired Sark this was a long term deal. That it was a tear down rebuild. And things have gone remarkably well. Sark and company have a plan and are executing it. And we are about a year or two from being like a Georgia or Alabama where we simply reload. But we are not there yet. Yet.

So, while last night was too damn close, the PROGRAM showed out very well. Because in the very recent past other Texas teams blow the 3 close wins completely. Those teams don’t go in the road and beat Alabama. They don’t beat a pretty good KSU with the backup QB — despite his costly mistakes.

Things are pretty damn good right now.
