The Third Step (in AA) refers to "God as we understood Him." The pathways to meeting this Higher Power are all around. New leaves on trees, watching a bird build a nest, or sitting in awe of the fury of a thunderstorm. In all these and many more, we are witness to a Power greater than ourselves.
A child creates an artistic masterpiece to be proudly displayed on the Refrigerator Museum of Modern Art. You know, the one in the kitchen. God has our pictures displayed on His refrigerator too. He's proud of us. He created us. When we live the lives He has modeled for us, we add new shades of color and detail to those pictures. If we're open and receptive, we can find God in all the small details of the world around us.
My prayer is that we find those pathways that lead to Him.
