Really big game Wednesday in Norman. Texas (26-3, 13-3) against the land thieves (20-7, 14-2).

OU (sux) won the 1st meeting in Austin, 91-87, in a game that probably aged Vic 10 years: no defense, lack of focus and heart by the Longhorns until it was too late. An atrocious 2nd quarter saw the Longhorns outscored 28-16. The gooners were led by PG Nevaeh Tot who finished with 14 points, 10 assists and 0 turnovers. All 5 OU (sux) starters finished in double figures, F Skylar Vann with 19.

Texas hasn’t lost since and has to get the road win to at least give themselves a shot at sharing the regular season conference title. With 1 game remaining against BYU, a second loss to the 1st place team would effectively lock them out of the title. Oklahoma‘s last game is against a very dangerous Kansas team.

  • Outside of 4 turnovers, Madison had a good game last go round: 29 points (10/19, 1/1 from 3, 8/8 FT), 6 boards and 3 assists.
  • Expect more pro-Longhorn yelling than you’d normally hear in Norman. Aaliyah Moore has been scrounging every game ticket she can for family, friends and former high school teammates. A-Mo is from very nearby Moore, OK - 20 minutes from her house to the OU (sux) campus.
  • If ‘ifs and buts’…in 2 games last season with Rori all up in her business, Tot had a combined 7 points, 0 assists, and 5 turnovers. :(

The Longhorns gave up 10 3s on 27 attempts and were -11 in assists and lost by 4. Play Vic-level defense, dominate the boards and paint points against an undersized sooner team and the ladies should come home with their win streak intact.
