Texas climbed 5 spots to #7 followings wins last week over then #13 Baylor and #2 KSU. Baylor dropped to #18, KSU to #8 and Big12 leader OU (sux) entered the poll at #25 - they were last ranked 2.5 months ago. As mentioned in the KSU game thread, #2 has been cursed this season but evidently that's not uncommon.

"DEUCES WILD: Only once in the past 15 years has a team been No. 2 all season long: Stanford in 2009-10. It's been a volatile spot lately. In the 2018-19 season, the No. 2 position changed 10 times, the most in that span. There have already been seven No. 2 teams this season."

Change of Topic:

I wouldn't be surprised to seeing incoming freshman Jordan Lee take over the SG spot after Shaylee's departure. Not to downplay Shaylee's contributions the past 2 seasons but I'd say Lee's the better, more consistent defender with the ability to guard 1-3. Ranked #7 in 2024, Jordan is a better athlete and is widely regarded as one of, if not the best, perimeter defenders in this class.
