Mentioned this in the Portal thread last night, but former San Jose Jose State CB Jay'Vion Cole, who entered the Portal on Tuesday, confirmed with OB that he will be taking a Texas official visit. I believe he's slated to arrive in Austin on Thursday but am working to confirm the details of the trip.

Cole is an interesting story of sorts. He wasn't highly recruited coming out of high school coming out of Oakland (CA) and wound up attending Cal Poly in 2022, where he led the team with four interceptions. From there, he transferred to SJSU and recorded 10 pass breakups with three interceptions, three tackles for loss, one sack and 38 tackles last year, earning honorable mention all-conference honors by the coaches (he was named a first-team all-conference player by Pro Football Focus). Cole will also visit Michigan State.

Also, as we pointed out yesterday, there's been considerable buzz with LSU and former TCU defensive tackle Damonic Williams following his LSU visit, which wraps up today. For those of you who have been following this one, it's kind of been all over the place. At first, OU was believed to be the likely destination and the Sooners looked good after getting Williams' first official visit. Williams then visited UT and told OB directly that he had an incredible visit to Austin. Next up was Missouri last weekend and people inside the Mizzou program were confident. Now it's LSU's turn and word started to trickle out yesterday that the Tigers had surged into the lead. As I've been saying, there's been a lot of movement in this one and there's still time for a late change when things like NIL are involved, but the recent chatter behind the scenes has LSU out in front as things stand right now.
