Finally Friday! Not sure about anyone else, but since the last out was recorded against Baylor this past Sunday afternoon, I have been looking forward to this matchup. As a college baseball fan at-large, I get giddy anytime there is a top 10 matchup between two schools who are fighting for big time post season stakes. Tack on the fact that we have two outstanding pitchers AND it is a Texas Longhorn game and I got up this morning raring to go.
In all seriousness though, this weekends matchup is between two teams who have had very similar seasons filled with success and struggles, but find themselves within reaching distance of a Top 8 seed and some big momentum as we head into the final three weeks of the regular college baseball season. Both teams are strong defensively and are fundamentally sound. Both teams have had up and down moments with their pitching but both boast a Friday night ace that is capable of beating anyone in the nation. Oklahoma State started the year off with a strikeout issue but has adjusted their approach and focused more on hits and line drives instead of trying to hammer the ball. Everyone here has seen the capacity of the Longhorns hitting and for me, that could be the difference maker this weekend, outside of playing at their home grounds, Disch-Falk Field.

Tonight should be a great game between two outstanding pitchers and all three games are listed by Texas as sold out, so get out to the Disch, get loud and have a great time watching two guys shove!
