US special operators surprised the hell out of another American city with a training exercise
Apparently not everyone in San Antonio got the message that Army special operations forces were going to descend on the city’s downtown this week.

So um...... ya-- basically our tier 1 SOF guys raided the Alamodome in an exercise which was meant to obviously simulate something-- because they don't just go and train for no reason-- so the question is-- are they training to clear out multiple threats that have taken a stadium hostage?
Tier 1 guys' time is valuable. For instance, they aren't going to be sent on a training exercise where they practice against an invading hoard of Martians..... nor do they grab scuba gear and go practice shooting sharks with lasers on their heads.
Nope. They practice real world possibilities. Specifically threats that have been identified by the alphabet agencies as "imminent" or highly likely. So somewhere in the intellegence apparatus, someone has seen a threat to stadiums and/or sporting events (at some point). And the brain trust at DIA see it as a plausible event so-- now whe have guys training to clear out a 65,000 seat sports stadium.
My question is-- what group(s) do they think have the operational capacity to pull off an event like this?
OR-- is this simply training for a lone shooter that enters into a stadium crowded with people and starts a mass casualty event and JSOC is brought in to neutralize the shooter?
Because, like I said-- they don't train fir this stuff if it's not likelybto happen.
