Philadelphians classless as usual.

Chicago first surprise

Any predictions when our boy D'Onta Foreman will go.

Man, my Texans traded up to get Watson. Mixed feelings. Would have almost liked to have waited until next years crop of qb's and see what Savage is like this year.
Maybe we get lucky and ends up being another Prescott.

Fellow Texans fan. You must have a QB to win in the NFL, I am glad the Texans have been aggressive in trying to find one the past several years. Unfortunately Brock didn't work out - but that experiment didn't cost much in the long run. The Watson trade only cost next year's first round pick, they didn't mortgage the future the get him. They are taking some risks at the QB position without putting themselves in a hole. I like it.

I am a Cowboy fan, but, I love the Watson pick. He will do well for the Texans.

Cleveland is a head scratcher, but, i will reserve judgement out of respect for Paul DePodesta. They had 3 opportunities to get a QB in the 1st round. I have to believe he will be a main driver in turning that mess around. I guess it makes sense to give Brock O. a chance to see what he can do and pick a top QB in next year's draft with their loaded opportunities.

Same here. IMO, Watson is the best QB in this year's draft. The pressure is squarely on O'Brien's shoulders now to develop Watson, and his track record isn't good, being labeled a "QB" coach. Time will tell, but my instinct is that the Texans will somehow find a way to screw things up.

You know I'm just a fan but I don't think Patrick Mahomes is going to make it in the NFL. I'm scratching my head on why he was taken ahead of Deshaun Watson. Otoh, KC coach Andy Reid is a disciple of the same kind of offense that Mike Leach and Kliff Kingsbury like to run. I just don't think so. And to think Mahomes is the only Big XII player taken in the first round another painful reminder of how lousy our conference has become.

Now I don't know a whole lot about the Houston Texans but I know they have a top notch defense and they made the playoffs. Also they put a good whipping on my Oakland Raiders before they got eliminated. I think Deshaun Watson is a winner. If the Texans can go out and give him some people for him to throw the ball to and some guys for him to hand it off to and the Texans will have a promising future.

One last thing I"m not trying to sound like a negative Ned but I don't think Leonard Fournette is all that.

But I do think that Clemson wr Mike Williams is a winner. In the title game he came up huge in the biggest game of his life that's something you can't measure but you're glad when your team notices him and takes advantage of the opportunity. I also like John Ross the wr from WA.

Watson battling Savage will be interesting. Whoever can consistently throw it within 5yds of Hopkins wins.

Obviously its early and there are still six more rounds to go, but so far, the 49ers have looked the best, IMO. They got the guy they wanted all along in Solomon Thomas, and got free picks to move down one spot. Also picked up Reuben Foster at #31. Sharp moves. OJ Howard was a steal at #19 for Tampa Bay.

I was surprised at how many QB's went and how early they did. A lot teams reached but they needed QB's. Sometimes need comes before value.

I agree. I don't think any of the QB's in this year's draft are truly first-round talent.
I think one or two may become pretty decent out of this list.

Watson is a winner. I would like that if I were a Houston fan. But I'm a Carolina fan and I'm loving me some Christian McCaffrey right now!

How many of you NFL oldheads remember how the Oakland Raiders were legendary for taking castoffs, rebels, and bad boys. But they were colorful no denying that. And they won.

And now we have the Cincinnati Bengals. But it's different with the Bengals. There's some really bad guys on that team. The one that stands out and I'm not sure if he's still on the team is Adam "Pacman" Jones. And they don't win.

And as Longhorn mm said earlier this year don't be surprised if the Bengals take Joe Mixon. And sure enough they did in the second round no less. His lack of character is documented and can't be refuted.

But this is the NFL and it's all about money. And it's disappointing to me that Joe Mixon gets drafted way ahead of D'onta Foreman a young man who has much more character. I hope D'onta gets the last laugh.

So Mixon knocks out a girl and gets drafted by Cincy, but Ray Rice knocks out his wife and gets kicked out of the league....I guess first time offenders are getting a chance ONLY IF they are coming out of college. They have a clean slate coming in the nfl I guess.....
