2019 Season

Texas goes 11-1. Book it.

Very possible. We were 4 points from doing that this year. I see improvement coming on both lines, just by replacing some dead beat seniors with more talented young guys. Ingram with a full offseason to build strength. A seasoned veteran QB to start the year, with much better backups ready go.

Folks, we may hate the way Herman is hard headed about trying to run the clock out in the fourth quarters now, only to fail and let teams back in, but this is Tom drilling his culture into this program's head. When he gets the OL he wants, we'll not only be running the clock out, but running right down the field for scores. This is his plan, and it's coming. We'll be near unstoppable as a result.

How far under?
Until I get caught up in next year's hype I'll stick with another 9-3 or 10-2 guess. We're on the right track but there's a whole lot that has to go your way for an 11-1 season.
We were super close to going undefeated and equally close to being a 5 win team this year. Certain things need to come together and until Clobs report reflects those needs as addressed, I'll be cautiously optimistic.

Let’s enjoy this year. Then see who transfers and who really signs. Then we can play with next year....

I agree. Go for a 9-3 season. If we expect 11-1, and don't get it, we will be wanting to fire a 9-3 coach.

What are the chances Roschon Johnson pushes Sam for the starter spot? I’m a homer but this kid is special.

I think it's more likely Rising and Thompson are the ones pushing Sam, while Roschon waits his turn and red shirts.

<----- surveys the room......"BARKEEP!! You got any of that good Kool-Aid? I've got a powerful thirst....been building for ten years. In fact.....Kool-Aid for errbody!!!"

Remember when we won 10 games every season, and all the fans were still pissed because we weren’t playing for national championships?

Good times...

Good times for sure. And the head coach was Mack Brown, who did lots of very good things for UT football, yet some on here bash the guy.

Well sh*t. Sorry MM, nothing but love for ya man, but here we go again.

Yes he did a lot for Texas, and he also took everything he did away by running the program right back into the ground. Nine years. Nine goddamn years and we're STILL digging out of the grave he dug. How much misery are you willing to accept for one single goddamn championship? I hate Mack, and will take that hate to my grave, and that's my goddamn right so stop trying to take it away from me. And yes, every single time you bring this up, I will respond in kind.

Nothing but love for you too, Metcalf, but you've beaten this horse to death. You don't like MB, which is your right. No need to keep repeating yourself. You sound like FB, lol.

You brought it up.

EDIT: and btw, man talk about my mom, kick my dog, but that last sentence....really hurtful man.

I sure did. To txleapd's point of how good and relevant Texas was for 15 years of Mack Brown's tenure. Good times that we'd all kill for again!

As he should be, but Texas now has some serious talent at QB on campus. Keep an eye on Roschon Johnson. That kid is going to be special.

You telling me you don’t miss the days of Gilbert, Case, Ash, Heard, Swoopes, and Buechele?

Edit: appreciate the effort those guys put into the program but that is some serious average D1 QB play.

I’m sorry but that is some of the dumbest shit I’ve ever read. Mack Brown put us in 2 national championship games and if not for Colt going down I think we beat Bama. But how can you blame the last 10 years on Mack Brown?!? I can see maybe blaming him for the 2 seasons after he was gone but I’m sorry man that was on Charlie Strong from then on for this program going to shit! I mean come on all you have to do is look and see what Herman is doing now in just 2 seasons. Charlie had the same resources and opportunities that Tom has, but just didn’t get the job done. That’s just absurd to blame the last 8 years of failure on Mack Brown. You must have wanted somebody else in before Mack got the job and are still pissed off about it because besides the great DKR, Mack is the 2nd best coach in the history of this great program. I’m hoping Tom can top them both and do great things with this program like it was when Mack was here.

I am just sorry I can only give you one like for this.....well said.

MM I am greatful for Mack bringing the program back to greatness, but I agree with Metcalf that he undid so much of the good work he had done. Mack got lazy, misjudged talent and never seemed to notice or care.He was able to bring in TWO once in a generation QB's that frankly saved his ass.

You’re right. He had 500 yards of offense and 7 TD’s at their playoff game Friday night at NRG. Ran for 264 and passed for 236.
