I saw a preseason article that picked us to finish in the middle of the pack. In that same article they said TT had 6 of the top 9 players on the all Big XII team. Damn. They must really have a stranglehold in Big XII baseball. I don't follow TX baseball as close as I should but do we have a chance for the postseason? How good a recruiter is coach Pierece? We did get to the CWS 2 years ago so there is that. And that alone makes him a better hire than Shaka Smart. Here's to hoping that we get some burnt orange representation in the CWS this June.

True test will be against LSU we did sweep them last year and everyone thought we were going to do something and it all went down hill. Pierce did make some changes with his staff and said to never let that happen again how the season unfolded last year. So we will see how this season goes, we are young again and I know people hate hearing that but it's the truth.
Good sweep. Will be at the series next weekend against Boise State, which is their first year since 1980 to have a varsity baseball team.
The good guys took care of UTSA tonight 6-2.
Slow start but the true freshman came through for us. A couple of errors and we were out hit, but a win is a win.

I don't know but it appears to me is our series against TT in May will the truth about our baseball team. And we have to go their place. We have a good team going into that series and win the series than we might just have a special team this year.

I agree. The level of competition that Texas has played so far is not very good, so the jury is still kind of out. Thus far, the pitching has looked very good, but I'm still not seeing consistently good hitting from the team. Texas has got to get the bats going.
Yeah, I was hoping to see some 15-2 type beat-downs against Boise State, this being their first baseball series in 30 years.
That was a horrible call by the blue to end the game on a called 3rd strike with tying and winning run on base. It was not a clean game by any means, but it was a good weekend test. Showed we can hang with anyone, but still some work to be done.

Agree about the errors could of won an extra game. Baylor goes 3-0 this weekend and the Big 12 wins the classic against the sec.
I agree. Too many errors cost Texas. The bats look somewhat better, but we can still hit better that what we've shown. A break here and there, and Texas could have gone 3-0. Also could have gone 0-3. I would have been happy with 2-1.
It definitely could of been 3-0 I would of taken 2-1 and glad we did beat arky really hate them just as much as lsu.
I was at the Texas/L$U game on Friday night. Their fans were typically arrogant and obnoxious. No surprise there. 
I saw where TX beat Cal State Fullerton 6/1 tonight. Didn't watch the game however.
But I remember in 1984 when TX advanced to the CWS. They were undefeated but CSF beat them in the title game. I remember that they had a little left handed pitcher named Eddie Delzer. And when I say little he was 5'6 and at most 150 pounds. But in the title game he channeled his inner Sandy Kofax and shut us down. He gave up a run and two hits in the first inning and that was it. He struck out a lot Longhorns that night and CSF won 3/1.
Oh and btw the CSF manager was a fella named Augie Garrido. I wonder whatever happened to Eddie Delzer. Anybody besides me remember watching the game on tv?

Hey I can't believe I didn't notice this earlier but were playing the cow college on 3/31 at their place. This is one game we can't lose are you listening Coach Pierce?
