The 2nd of 4 Majors is here. For the Masters there were over a 100 entries and quite a few from OB. Read below for info and to place your entry.

Championship will be held at the Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky. As always the field is stacked so we should see lots of movement on our leaderboard. If it's anything like the final few hours of the Masters we are in for another treat. The course will play at 7,609 yards according to the PGA Championship website. Make your picks at https://major-bets.griley.dev/ If you have any issues, e-mail, or text me so we can try and address them immediately. Please (I said please) send your payment after you've selected your team; I really dislike chasing people down for payment so don’t be that person. We are using the Vegas Insider Odds that were posted at 10:37 AM on 5/13 and I've included the link. The rules have remained the same as in years past and are spelled out in this e-mail. If you still have questions (you shouldn’t) feel free to reach out. Good luck and Happy PGA Championship week.

Fun facts about Valhalla Golf Club

  • FOUR-TIME CLUB: By hosting a PGA Championship for the fourth time, Valhalla joins some select company. Only Southern Hills (5) and Oak Hill (4) have hosted the event as many times.
  • TOP-RANKED PLAYGROUND: Other than Augusta National, which has the advantage of hosting the same major every year, no other course in the world has seen two different players ranked No. 1 in the Official World Golf Rankings than Valhalla. Tiger Woods did it in 2000. Rory McIlroy did it in 2014. If Scottie Scheffler, can pull it off this year, he’d be No. 3.
  • PLAYOFF PENCHANT: The first PGA held at Valhalla resulted in a playoff, where Mark Brooks beat Kenny Perry. The second one here saw Woods hold off Bob May. Only one other venue has hosted multiple playoffs for the PGA Championship: Whistling Straits in 2004 and 2010.
  • HISTORY IN LOUISVILLE: Louisville just played host to the 150th running of the Kentucky Derby. The PGA Championship has a long history of its own. This year will be the 106th PGA Championship, though the event is 108 years old. It was canceled in 1917 because of World War I and in 1943 because of World War II.
  • TROPHY TALK: The Wanamaker Trophy, given to the PGA Championship winner, was produced by Dieges & Clust of New York City in 1916, the same company that produced the Heisman Trophy. The winner gets a replica trophy to keep permanently but must return the original. The trophy was actually lost for several years until it turned up in 1930 in the cellar of L.A. Young and Company. That was the company that made the clubs for Hagan, who had lost it. He said he’d given it to a taxi driver, who didn’t return it to his hotel. Subsequent champions have been more careful.
