The #1 ranked Texas Longhorns defeated #4 Arkansas 42/7. Like the previous year the game was moved to December. But that year there wasn't the kind background surrounding the game. No POTUS attending the game no controversy surrounding other teams. And AR lost their first game and then rebounded.

But this game was never close. At 14/7 AR had it first and goal and the horns made a goal line stand. Then they drove the length of the field in like 4 plays and the rout was on. Our last nc under DKR. It was our 30th win a row. Unfortunately we lost in the CB to the golden domers. I think NB ended up #1 in the other poll.

But no matter we were still champs. It was the horns at their peak during that golden era.

Thats true! Its was one to add to the Arky series level, we was loaded for bear in the Rose Bowl.....For one of the best was with Neb for the playoffs clob...both of them, James Brown and then Colt game..second best was Aggsy at CS with the last second FG...

In the last 35 years I can think of only 1 title game that could match TX/SC. The background, the setting, 2 teams with very different personalities. I'm talking about PS/Miami in the 1987 FB. The only time I ever pulled for a Joe Paterno team.

Actually Joe was 2/2 against us.

Bear Bryant was 1/6/1 against TX but never beat a Darrell Royal team. Stranger here is a true story about the only time the Bear beat TX. You know how retarded aggies can act at fb games. When they broke through and finally won a game in Austin you're not going to believe this. Those aggies stormed out onto the field our playing field and tried to tear down the goal posts. But they couldn't do it. It was said they shook and shook and even tried to pull them out of the ground to no avail. True story. What can you say the sons of bitches have always been s****y engineers.
