Winner takes all. Today's game does not define the season nor does it alter what has happened up until now. Today's game does represent the opportunity to stay in the Big 12 race while a loss would see Texas fall to 2-4 in conference and removing all buffer in the race for a top seed. Don't get me wrong, I think Texas has the pieces in place to get a Top 16 seed and even sneak in top the Top 8 depending on how the season goes and what happens across the college baseball landscape, but there are issues in the bullpen and the staff have to find a way to get those guys mojo back. Certainly injuries have played a part and the schedule has done Texas no favors, but today is a must win game with a very tough TCU series at Disch-Falk looming next weekend. The good news for the Horns is that the entire bullpen, less Nixon is available. I fully expect to see Lucas go as far as he can and then the staff will turn to a trio of Sthele, Harrison and Cobb to bring it home. As I stated, all that matters is winning. ALWAYS WIN ON SUNDAYS!

Keys to the game:
Lucas Gordon and timely hitting. OU will start LHP Chazz Martinez who has electric stuff, but has been inconsistent this year at times. Ivan and Murph have to pick themselves up after a poor showing yesterday, as does Faltine. The availability of EK today is unknown, but my guess is that he will be out. The Longhorns need to channel their inner Texas Softball team and find a a way to win todays game in whatever manner it takes.
