I talked to a source today who indicated Texas A&M did make a job offer to Texas defensive line coach Brick Haley. I don't know the specifics of what was offered, but I am told it's more money than he's making at Texas. The way it's described to me, this one could now come down to whether or not Texas makes a counter-offer.
If UT does, Haley will have a tough decision to make. If UT does not, one would have to think Haley will accept the A&M position, but that is speculation on my part.
Also, a name to file away for the UT wide receivers coaching position ... Jason Phillips. I had heard Phillips' name in relation to Texas possibly having a job opening way back in December. I believe he and Charlie Strong even talked about the possibility of Phillips joining the staff, but things cooled when it looked like Jay Norvell would be staying. With the WR position now officially open, Phillips is a person who could be a candidate, although he did recently get hired by Kansas.
