Some of you all will remember on a thread during the Army Bowl I mentioned a "rumor of the day" that A&M would be suffering a decommitment in the near future.
Irv Smith was who I was referring to. Truthfully, it took quite a bit longer than I expected for him to officially decommit, but it happened tonight.
From what I'm hearing, I like where Texas sits. In fact, here's what I had written this afternoon on Smith for the War Room tonight.
Irvin Smith - He's technically still committed to A&M, but we've been hearing rumors for a couple weeks that he's close to formally decommitting. Texas is in much better standing here than people realize, but Smith will visit Alabama this weekend so that could impact things. As of right now, I like Texas' chances as much or more than anyone on Smith's list.
